My Marineland Penguin 150 filter is slowing down. Why?

I’ve had this filter for maybe 5 months? When i first installed it was working fast and amazing. But now its slowing down the Bio Wheel spins for 3 seconds and stops for maybe 10, Its pretty much random. I’ve cleaned it, Switch the Filter Media, And switch the extensions for the tube. Please help D=

Are you taking the filter apart when you clean it? I mean, removing the motor impeller, and scrubbing the inside of the water intake tubes with a brush?

When a bio wheel is new it spins fast because it is not totally soaked in water and bacteria. As it becomes totally water logged, it slows down a bit. As more and more bacteria grows, it slows down even more. Still, it should not stop for so long. So, your water flow might be too low.

Also, have you tried taking out the bio wheel, and cleaning the area where it sits in the filter? Make sure that the parts that it spins on are cleaned.
