How many watts do I *really* need (aquarium heater)?
I have been looking around for Aquarium Heaters before actual winter hits, after mine stopped working. I noticed that some brands say a 20 gallon tank needs 100 watts, while others say 50 watts.
How many watts would my twenty gallon tank really need?
the ballpark is 5 watts per gallon, so a 20 gallon needs a 100 watt heater … i have used that ballpark in 6 tanks with four different brands of heaters and all tanks remain at a constant temp …
